NYC Republicans was founded in 2007 by Marko Kepi while he was a student at John Jay College. During that time, Marko noticed how liberal universities were mobilizing students to support Democratic candidates across New York State. He also recognized a major gap within the Republican Party in New York City—particularly the lack of engagement with young Republicans.
At the time, in a city of nearly nine million residents, only ten Republicans held elected office citywide. Motivated to change this, Marko launched a Republican social media campaign aimed at spreading conservative values throughout the five boroughs and encouraging young Americans—especially new immigrants—to join the Republican movement.
Eighteen years later, NYC Republicans has grown into the Republican organization with the largest social media following in New York City. Today, the organization is dedicated to building a strong grassroots movement to help elect Republicans across all five boroughs.
