FIRST IN PLAYBOOK: Labor attorney and Air Force veteran Greg Hach is launching a campaign today to unseat Democratic Rep. Tom Suozzi on Long Island.

Hach, who also ran in 2023 and 2024, denounces “empty suit politicians” in his launch video, titled “It’s Time to Fight Back.” He knocks Republicans as well as Suozzi.

Hach is Suozzi’s first Republican challenger of the 2026 cycle.

Expect more GOP candidates gunning for the swing seat and expect them to follow Hach in branding the Democrats as the party of “the radical left.”

“From Albany to Washington, far-left Democrats like New York City Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani and their academic allies are rewriting the rules of society — pushing policies that erase gender distinctions, undermine law enforcement, and demonize success,” Hach said in a statement.

“This isn’t our grandparents’ Democratic Party,” he added.

Suozzi, a moderate Democrat and one of the country’s most vulnerable frontliners, has distanced himself from Mamdani — and even said the democratic socialist and heavy favorite to be the city’s next mayor should find a different party.

Suozzi’s campaign spokesperson declined to comment on Hach’s entry into the race.

Hach, who didn’t make the ballot in 2024, has swiped at the Nassau GOP in the past and is keeping up the pressure ahead of a potential Republican primary in the 3rd Congressional District.

“Long Islanders want strong conservative Republican leaders in Congress — bonafide Trump backers — not feckless, Democrat-light candidates who have been losing election after election here,” Hach said. — Emily Ngo
